If there's one thing I've come to realize it is that so called experts on phrase origins often have no more idea what they are talking about than anybody else. "Okay" is a central afican word meaning okay - pretty much as we use it, except it also indicates "I'm listening". "Driving up a wall" obviously means driving me to climb up a wall.
